Education Management Retreat

The Education Management Retreat organized by the Ministry of Education, Kaduna State under the leadership of the Commissioner Shehu Usman Muhammad PhD, the retreat was organized to have an interactive session with all key stakeholders of the Sector and to develop the capacity of its staff. The Commissioner in his welcome remark acknowledged all dignitaries present, he specially welcomed Her Excellency the Deputy Governor of the State to the first Education Management Strategy Retreat organized by the sector since this political dispensation, he equally thanked His Excellency the Governor Mal. Nasiru El Rufai and the entire council for according Education with the highest portion in the State Budget. He assured Her Excellency on behalf of the Education Sector family that they would be diligent in their respective work as a team to move Education to the Next Level. Target would set using key performance indicators to access everyone in the Sector. Finally, he also said that the Zonal Director and Principal were also assessed, and the result of the assessment would be used for their reassignment and redeployment accordingly.
Dr. Hadiza Balarabe has declared opened the Kaduna State Education Sector Management Strategic Retreat 2020, organized by the State Ministry of Education to build staff capacity and enhance their productivity. In her remarks at the opening ceremony which took place today at NUT Endewell Conference Centre, Dr. Hadiza commended the Ministry of Education for organizing the retreat, which she said is a perfect way to lift morale of staff, fuel high productivity and encourage efficiency at work. She further called on the participants to make good use of the retreat to refresh themselves , relive the vision of education, enliven it’s philosophies and values, while rethinking their commitments towards enhancing their productivity.

She stressed that the Government’s policy of putting people first, making lives better, cannot succeed without the dedication and unflinching support for human capital development which pertains to education, because staff of the ministry are at the forefront of interpreting and implementing such policy decisions.

The Deputy Governor also said the administration is spirited in its efforts towards promoting equality of opportunity by raising the standard of public education to be the same across both private and public schools, saying it is only when same standards are maintained and access to learning guaranteed, that the state can boost of an environment that provides each child equal access to life’s basic opportunities.
The theme of the retreat is “Towards Achieving All Inclusive Education in Kaduna State”. The retreat is being attended by heads of all State Educational Institutions, heads and staff of parastatals and agencies under the Ministry of Education as well as other stakeholders in the education sector in the state.
